Halley Kate Shows Off Massive Marquise Engagement Ring From Reed Williams
Influencer Halley Kate McGookin showed off a massive engagement ring from boyfriend Reed Williams.
Halley, 24, shared a glimpse of the stunning sparkler, featuring a marquise-shaped diamond set on a gold band, while taking to social media on Friday, January 23, to announce that she and Reed were engaged after more than two years of dating.
In a subsequent post, Halley shared the video of Reed getting down on one knee as they stood in a park in Switzerland. After popping the question, he stood back up and gave her a kiss.
“He ate with the 💍,” Halley captioned the snaps. She also shared funny moments from her engagement, including a screenshot of her grabbing the ring from the box and putting it on herself.
“Reed: ‘You reached for that very quickly, didn’t even give me a chance [to put it on you],” Halley quipped. She also wrote that her fiancé “hired a photographer who legit hid in the bushes,” as well as a photo of them celebrating at dinner.
The content creator added thatReed he couldn’t sleep for “a couple of nights” because he was “trying to decide between which diamond to get.”
Halley previously gave some insight about what her nuptials could possibly look like while filming an episode of her “Delusional Diaries” podcast in June 2025. “I’m not against getting married, I just wanna make that clear, I have nothing against marriages, I just don’t wanna have a wedding, is what I’ve always said,” she shared at the time.
She noted that seeing her best friend Jaz Smith tie the knot with her husband, Kevin Callari, confirmed to Halley that she “would never wanna do a wedding like that.” (Jaz, 28, had a grand wedding at the Oheka Castle in Long Island in May 2025. The location is widely known as the spot Taylor Swift filmed her “Blank Space” music video.)
“I had the most amazing time without having to put a single thought towards this, in terms of planning, or spending money, or anything of the sort,” she said.
Halley and Reed started dating in 2023 after meeting on Hinge. They then split in November 2023. At the time, Halley explained that Reed “didn’t think [she] was the love of his life.”
While they were broken up, Reed went on a date with another New York City-based influencer Sophia La Corte, whom Halley met multiple times at events.
Halley shared a TikTok in November 2023 about the drama, saying, “You are going to homie hop not even three weeks later after our nine-month-long relationship where we spent every single day together?” She continued, “I texted the girl multiple times and she has not responded to me, which is fair. I wouldn’t respond either if I was her.”
In April 2024, Halley announced she and Reed were back together.
That August, Sophia confirmed that she was the one who went on a date with Reed after she slid into his DM’s. She sarcastically said, “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you owned him, he wasn’t wearing a collar,” which then went viral.
Fans have since questioned Reed, leading Halley to address the hate they were receiving in an emotional October 2025 TikTok.

“Even though I knew it was the right decision to get back together with him and I was happy, I still felt such shame,” she admitted. “The whole ‘He said you’re not the love of his life,’ he was a 22 idiot boy and thought things were getting too serious in our relationship. Panicked and broke up with me.”
Halley added, “I kept asking, ‘Why are you breaking up with me?’ and the truth was, he didn’t know. I couldn’t handle that so finally he said, ‘I don’t know if you’re the love of my life.’ I took that, ran with it. I should never put that online. It’s one of my biggest regrets.” After breaking up for “six weeks,” Reed realized that his statement “wasn’t true” and wanted to get back together.
Halley went on to gush about how much of an “amazing” boyfriend he is and that she’s the “happiest” she’s ever been.
