“Today we’re happy to announce that the intersecting sagas of Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez in Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City are now all playable on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility,” said Rockstar Games in an official statement. All versions of the game, including Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition, are included in this compatibility, Rockstar says.

It’s about time

Grand Theft Auto IV‘s 25-million-plus sales might look paltry in comparison to its successor, but it was still a huge game in its own right, both in scope and sales, and with Grand Theft Auto V still selling like crazy, making the game available both to those who already own it and to those who have a few extra bucks to spare to pick it up in the Microsoft store seems like a no-brainer.

Other Rockstar titles that are backwards compatible include Red Dead Redemption and Bully Scholarship Edition. Grand Theft Auto IV is available on the Xbox store now.
