The 60th Annual Grammy Awards took place over the weekend in New York City, and the music industry’s biggest night was flooded with advertisements from technology companies like Apple and Google. It makes sense considering most have music streaming services of their own while the Grammy Awards normally generate more than 20 million viewers on CBS every year. Apple found the event particularly helpful to promote its latest product, the HomePod.
Apple’s smart speaker appeared in four ads that aired throughout the three-hour show. Each highlighted a different area in which the HomePod — beat, equalizer, bass, and distortion. And, of course, the music for them pairs nicely with the quality being showcased.
