Alex Hutchinson, director on some of Ubisoft’s biggest games in the last decade, announced via Twitter that he has left the publisher to form his own studio.

“Extremely proud of all we achieved on Far Cry and Assassins but very excited to build something new,” he said.

“Myself, [Reid Schneider, formerly of Warner Bros.], and some other wonderful people have founded a brand new company: Typhoon Studios,” he continued.

Hutchinson has worked on games such as Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 4, and Army of Two: The 40th Day, the latter of which he worked with Schneider on previously.
