Ashley Tisdale Shows Daughter’s 1st Haircut Amid Mom Group Drama
Ashley Tisdale French is marking a milestone moment.
“First haircut @buddywporter,” she captioned the snapshot from a salon visit on Thursday, January 8, showing her go-to stylist, Buddy Porter, combing through her daughter Jupiter’s hair. (The High School Musical star, 40, shares daughters Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 16 months, with husband Christopher French. They have been married since September 2014.)
Porter has chopped Ashley’s hair for years, with a 2023 post of her freshly cropped fringe bangs after a dry cut featured in his pinned photos on Instagram. The stylist has worked on a number of stars, including Stranger Things actresses Maya Hawke and Nell Fisher.
On Thursday, Ashley also shared a photo of her youngest child, Emerson, enjoying a scenic view overlooking the ocean, making it clear the star is putting mom group drama aside and enjoying some quality time with her family.

Drama erupted online after Ashley opened up about her experience with a “toxic” mom group in an essay that was published via New York Magazine’s The Cut on January 1. Although she didn’t name-drop any members, fans noticed that she was previously spending quality time with fellow celebrity moms Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore.
Ashley said she ultimately exited the group, which started out with a positive dynamic, after she was repeatedly left out of social gatherings.
“By the time we started getting together for playdates and got the group chat going, I was certain that I’d found my village,” she explained about how the energy shifted. “But over time, I began to wonder whether that was really true.”

Ashley said she was aware of the times the women were hanging out without her because “Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story,” she explained. “I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me.”
“At first, I tried not to take things personally,” she admitted. “It’s not like people aren’t allowed to get together without me — and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn’t been invited. We were all busy, life was hectic. I told myself it was all in my head and it wasn’t a big deal.”
Ashley said that she found herself pondering over the reasons why she was excluded, ultimately texting the group, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”
After the essay made headlines, Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, weighed in by sharing a tongue-in-cheek fictional post on the publication.

“A mom group tell-all through a father’s eyes,” Koma’s faux-post read. “When you’re the most self obsessed tone deaf person on earth, other moms tend to shift focus to their actual toddlers.”
Trainor, 32, also entered the chat with a TikTok clip. “Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama,” the singer captioned a video of herself sitting at a computer set to her new single, “Still Don’t Care.”
Moore, for her part, posted a shout-out for Koma on the first anniversary of the Los Angeles wildfires. The This Is Us actress, 41, described him as “one [of] the most talented and generous humans I’m lucky to know.” She added, “He literally gave my family a place to stay one year ago today when we evacuated.”
