Apple releases iOS 11.1—Here’s everything that’s new!

As expected, on the eve of the iPhone X’s launch, Apple has released iOS 11.1 to everyone. The new software features plenty of improvements, including the return of the fan-favorite 3D touch multitasking gesture and nearly a hundred new emoji.

Apple has been priming the software ahead of the iPhone X’s launch this Friday and the company wrapped up development just in time. If you don’t own an iPhone X, of course, you can still get in on the fun. Just head to Settings General Software Update.

One of the big features that’s making a return is the 3D Touch multitasking gesture, which allows users to press the left edge of the display, launching you into your multitasking screen. For some inexplicable reason, Apple removed it when iOS 11 hit in September.

There are a ton of fixes and enhancements in the release notes, which you can see in the images below. Today’s release comes on the heels of the first beta for iOS 11.2, which will hopefully introduce Apple Pay Cash and Messages for iCloud.
