Anti-phishing security is on its way to Gmail for iOS

Google has updated its Gmail application for iOS with a new filter that’s designed to protect you from external phishing attacks, following its release for Android back in May.

It will take around ten days for the upgrade to reach your device and when it does, a warning message will appear whenever you attempt to open a suspicious link through Gmail.

As the firm can’t actually prevent you from opening a malicious link, you have the facility to bypass the stern warning message and proceed to the dubious-looking website.

Keep your eyes peeled

We should probably mention that Google can only protect you from fraudulent links within Gmail, so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled when surfing the web using a browser.
