Amanda Bynes is making a statement — and doing it in ink and electric color.
The former actress, 39, revealed a new “Trap Star” tattoo placed on the top of her hand, rendered in a bold, blackletter font, via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, January 22.
She gave a close look at the ink with a photo captured in her car, after showing off her outfit, which consisted of a black oversized windbreaker, leggings and white sneakers. Bynes was still sporting the heart face tattoo she got in 2019, as well as a bright blue lipstick.
Bynes’ new design was in between the “Beauty” tattoo on her forearm and heart on her middle finger, and done by Atomic Tattoo LA, a Los-Angeles based studio known for clean linework and modern edge. She accessorized her hand with a sparkling pink acrylic set and gold watch.
The former Nickelodeon star also has a bright red rose tattoo on that same arm, as seen on a prior clip she shared, in which the artist placed the stencil paper down for an outline.
Just last month, Bynes shared a life update and revealed that she lost nearly 30 pounds using Ozempic. (Ozempic is an injectable type 2 diabetes drug that has also gained traction for its weight loss benefits).
“I usually don’t like paparazzi pictures bc I was 180lbs but now I’ve lost 28lbs on ozempic!” she wrote on December 22, alongside a photo of herself wearing ripped jeans and a Lady Gaga T-shirt. “I’m down to 152lbs. I know I still look big but this photo is really inspiring to me!”
The year before, she opened up about her mental health struggles and how they impacted her overall well-being. “I’ve gained over 20lbs in the past few months from being depressed,” the Easy A star wrote in a March 2024 Instagram Story. “I’m doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don’t feel like working out or eating clean.”
She uploaded her Apple Fitness summary that November, which noted that she’d surpassed her daily move goal by over 150 calories and walked almost 15,000 steps.
In 2020, Bynes’ lawyer David Esquibias confirmed to Us Weekly that the actress was seeking professional care for her “ongoing mental health issues.”
More recently, she has been experimenting with her style.

Back in September, Bynes stepped out with a fresh two-toned, platinum-and-black hair color that was reminiscent of the early 2000s trend. And one month prior, she unveiled the first look at her plump pout via Instagram, captioning her post, “Lip injections by @body.byem 3.”
Bynes also launched an OnlyFans account in April 2025 to connect with fans on her $50 per month subscription plan, noting at the time that she wouldn’t be “posting any sleazy content.”
After leaving behind her acting career, she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019. Bynes later shared her plans to obtain her manicurist license in 2024 following a brief podcast launch in late 2023.
