For the first time in 679 days, Rob Gronkowski scored a touchdown.
It was also his first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Late in the second quarter against the Green Bay Packers, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who was Gronkowski’s long-time teammate with the New England Patriots, found Gronkowski down the left sideline for a 12-yard touchdown grab.
Heading into halftime, Gronkowski had caught four of five targets for 60 yards with the score.
The catch was part of Tampa Bay’s 28-point second quarter as the Buccaneers built a 28-10 halftime lead. It was Gronkowski’s 80th career touchdown reception, not counting the playoffs.
