NFL honors Kobe Bryant with a moment of silence before Super Bowl LIV

Kobe Bryant’s memory lived on in the biggest stage of the NFL.

About 40 minutes before kickoff of Super Bowl LIV on Sunday between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, both teams honored the late Los Angeles Lakers star in a pregame ceremony.

Both teams lined up at the opposing 24-yard lines, in reference to the jersey No. 24 Bryant wore later in his career with the Lakers, for a moment of silence to honor Bryant, who died at 41 on January 26 after a helicopter crashed in Calabasas, California. The crash also took the lives of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others who were on their way to an AAU basketball game that Gianna was set to play in.
