Jake Gyllenhaal slap at UFC 285 weigh-ins for ‘Road House’ scene goes viral

UFC 285 fight card features Jon Jones’ return after a three-year hiatus as he attempts to beat Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title.

But the event’s rollout marked another return – Jake Gyllenhaal’s to the fighting world.

The actor appeared at the UFC 285 weigh-ins Friday in Las Vegas. After Jones and Gane finished their ceremonial weigh-in — where Jones weighed 248 pounds and his opponent registered at 247.5 pounds —  Gyllenhaal took the stage with former UFC fighter Jay Hieron. They then filmed their own weigh-in as part of the remake of the 1989 film “Road House.”

With UFC star Conor McGregor announcing from off-stage, the two actors followed the script and took their turns flexing on the scale and then faced off as fighters do. Hieron does some chirping before Gyllenhaal slaps him in the face and a scuffle ensues.

The video got millions of views as fans clamored to see the scene.

Gyllenhaal was noticeably chiseled as he returned to a similar shape that he was in for the 2015 movie “Southpaw,” where he played boxer Billy Hope.

Saturday night, more filming for the “Road House” remake appeared to be taking place using the crowd in attendance for UFC 285, with Gyllenhaal briefly jumping into the octagon to “fight.”
