England mourns former captain Armfield

Former England captain Jimmy Armfield has died during a age of 82 following a conflict with cancer.

The Blackpool fable done 43 appearances for a Three Lions, 15 of them as captain, starred during a 1962 FIFA World Cup™ and was an new patrol member when England won a Trophy 4 years later. He was awarded a winner’s award in a special rite in 2009.

The Armfield family also expelled a statement, saying: “After a prolonged and bold battle, a dear husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law Jimmy Armfield, has upheld divided peacefully surrounded by his evident family.

“We have many smashing messages of adore and support, for that we are grateful, and changed by all a kind words.We would also like to appreciate all a pretentious and dedicated NHS staff who have kept Jimmy, and a family, as good as probable over a 10 years of his illness.

“Jimmy had dual good loves, initial and inaugural was his family, to that he was clinging and desired dearly. The other was football, generally Blackpool, England and his colleagues during a PFA.”
