Plans for LG’s next flagship remain unknown, but we might have a look at what the company initially planned to release.
The G7 (Neo), which we’ve heard nothing about until now, appeared online in a leaked video. It shows the phone from every angle and even spills details on specifications. What’s confusing, though, is that it originally seemed LG scrapped its plans for the G7 and would shift its focus to an entirely new product. With that in mind, this could be a now-canceled phone or a prototype indicating what’s coming.
Here’s the back of the phone, which was caught on camera by YNet:
From the outside, LG stuck with glass similar to the G6 and V30. The difference is the dual-camera setup that’s vertically-aligned rather than horizontally. Below that is still the fingerprint scanner doubling as a power button.
The specs listed include a 6-inch (3120×1440) OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a notch at the top, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, up to 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, a dual-camera setup on the back with two 16MP lenses, an 8MP front-facing camera, a 3000mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner. There’s no word on which version of Android is present, but it’s safe to assume Oreo is here.
Mobile industry insider Evan Blass caught YTNet‘s report to share with stateside media outlets. Along with tweeting out the leak, he also pointed out this could be the phone LG canceled to create Judy. That name is, of course, what LG is calling its upcoming flagship behind the scenes.
LG hasn’t confirmed anything. The company said we’d have to wait for its 2018 flagship, and beyond that, no additional details have been offered.
