Keto craze: How new keto options can keep you on track

Here’s what you need to know about the keto diet; the high-fat, low-carb diet everyone’s talking about.

It’s not always easy to keep up with keto, but there are new ways for you to shake up your plan including, yes, shakes.

The low-carb, high fat diet has recently made its way into movie theaters. Luxury dine-in theater IPIC, for example, launched an entirely new menu dedicated to keto items in May. IPIC CEO Hamid Hashemi said he created the keto menu for his theater chain after successfully losing 35 pounds on the diet. He said he noticed that it’s easy to make keto friendly versions of entrees at his dine-in theater chain like fried chicken and sliders, but desserts and cocktails proved to be a little more difficult.

The new keto menu includes tequila, vodka and rum based cocktails like the Anti-rita, a low-carb version of the traditional margarita. The dessert menu boasts whoopie pies, key lime bars and cheesecake, all of which contain less than 5 grams of carbs.

Since the keto diet doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, here are some other new keto products for you to try.

If making keto friendly meals is proving to be too difficult, Sated offers meal replacement shakes in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and peaches and cream. All flavors have less than 3 grams of carbs.

Koia is another company that branched out into making keto friendly plant-based protein shakes. They started the line to offer dieters a way to follow the keto diet without relying on meat proteins.

Moon Cheese

What’s moon cheese? Basically cheese in a chip form with no carbs involved. The website describes it as dehydrated cheese and touts its high protein and low carb nutritional makeup, which makes it keto friendly. It comes in all types of flavors like cheddar, gouda, pepperjack and sriracha.

Vanessa Hudgens just backed a keto friendly chocolate peanut butter cup calling it “the perfect Keto snack.” SlimFast has a whole line of keto products, but Hudgens showcased the Peanut Butter Cup Fat Bombs, which resemble a low-carb low-sugar version of a Reese’s cup.

A cookie with no sugar and extremely low carbs sounds like a trap, but Fat Snax is here to prove otherwise. The creator, Jeff Frese, says he made the low carb, no sugar cookie after not being able to find keto snacks when he was on the diet.
