Dentist stops practising after some-more lawsuits: ‘I wish he’d quit 6 months ago,’ former studious says

A Surrey, B.C., dentist has stopped practising after 4 some-more patients filed lawsuits on a heels of a Go Public investigation.

Dr. Steven Krieger, who worked at the Clover Care Dental Clinic, has “voluntarily withdrawn” registration as a dentist, according to a B.C. College of Dental Surgeons.

No one from a college would determine to an interview, yet in an email pronounced Krieger will not perform dentistry tentative a open conference before a fortify cabinet on allegations opposite him. No date has been set for that hearing.

Krieger now faces a dozen lawsuits from former patients, alleging he caused mistreat and nonessential pain. None of a allegations have been proven in court.

One of a latest complainants is Tami Conlin, 37, who says she’s been in pain given an appointment with Krieger final May.

“When we review a Go Public essay [online], we was like, ‘Oh my God, what a hell? we need to review this essay again and call a counsel [mentioned],” says Conlin.

She says that during a slight checkup Krieger told her she indispensable 4 fillings, even yet she had no symptoms.

A week after a fillings, Conlin was still “in agony,” so Krieger achieved a base canal, yet that didn’t assuage her pain.

Conlin was referred to a specialist, who couldn’t detect any infection, so she’s now watchful to see a neurologist to be checked for haughtiness damage. She has used adult her dental coverage, so a tooth that needs a climax is still exposed.

“My tooth is fundamentally dead,” says Conlin. “And since of him [Krieger], we have all this pain. we wish he’d quit 6 months ago.”

No criticism from dentist

Krieger did not respond to requests for an talk about his preference to stop practising.

In statements of counterclaim filed in several lawsuits, Krieger “denies any and each allegation,” and says he treated patients with “reasonable care, ability and diligence.”

Krieger’s bureau pronounced he was approaching behind during work “in a new year.”

The B.C. College of Dental Surgeons has private Krieger’s name from a database, yet has not done open a allegations opposite him.

Previously, a website pronounced Krieger was limited from doing base canals, yet did not explain why.

“How can people find information about any concerns they have or any restrictions on his practice?” she says.

The college’s website now lists 13 dentists as carrying “practice limitations,” yet there are no explanations since a stipulations are in place.

For instance, one dentist is not authorised to use unless a second dentist is present.

Another dentist “must have a chaperone present” during all times when saying patients, and that limitation contingency be posted in his watchful room.  

Another can't yield base canals, crowns, bridges, veneers or implants.

Robertson wants a college to some-more closely counterpart a Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, that posts full sum online when it restricts or disciplines a member.

“If a [B.C.] college sees fit to shorten a dentist’s practice, they should also be creation open a reason those restrictions are in place,” she says.

In an email, a B.C. College of Dental Surgeons pronounced it “pays tighten courtesy to governmental trends and changes in open expectations” and that it “will continue to listen to a several viewpoints and to adjust a proceed as indispensable to strengthen a public.”

Website still advertised dental services

In late December, Krieger was still charity dental services on his website, that is not authorised since he’s not now practising.

His website featured a print of him underneath a add-on noted “Meet a Doctor” and pronounced he “performs a far-reaching operation of services.”

After Go Public contacted a B.C. College of Dental Surgeons to scrutinise about a website, Krieger’s name and print were removed.

While she waits for a date in court, Conlin pronounced she will also record a censure about Krieger with a college.

“It’s too late for me,” she says, “but maybe that will strengthen someone else.”
