Child heart patients treated for singular surgical infection

At slightest a dozen children who underwent cardiac medicine during Children’s Hospital in New Orleans this summer have contracted a singular surgical-site infection caused by bacteria.
The sanatorium told The New Orleans Advocate that a germ have been related to handling room apparatus used to umpire a heat of patients during heart surgery.
John F. Heaton, a hospital’s comparison vice-president and arch medical officer, told WWL-TV that patients are responding to treatment.
The micro-organism was identified as Mycobacterium abscessus. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says on a website that a germ are common in water, dirt and dust.
