Google Daydream VR recruits major YouTube stars for launch

Just as it did with the launch of YouTube Red, Google is recruiting some of YouTube’s biggest stars to create content for the launch of Daydream, according to Bloomberg

As part of Daydream’s launch, Google has also partnered with a number of big players to help drive adoption of the new platform. During its Google I/O presentation in May, Google revealed Hulu, Ubisoft, the NBA, and IMAX will all have a presence on Daydream when it launches. Google has reportedly spent “six figures on video games,” too, Bloomberg

YouTube already supports 360-degree video, so Daydream users won’t be without content to watch. However, by tapping some of the industry’s top creators to make content for Daydream’s launch, Google is ensuring the platform is filled with new—and presumably exclusive—stuff to keep users busy. Now that Android 7.0 Nougat is available, a key component of Daydream is already in the wild
