Taylor Swift’s surprising request for her ‘last-minute’ appearance on The Graham Norton Show has been revealed.
The 36-year-old Grammy winner, who tied the knot with Travis Kelce during an extravagant NYC wedding nearly two weeks earlier, stopped by the British talk show last year in October.
She had joined fellow guests Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Lewis Capaldi and Jodie Turner-Smith at the time.
Norton recalled the singer’s move ahead of her appearance during a new interview with British GQ.
‘The last time – she was a very last-minute booking,’ he said. ‘The show was fully booked. So we thought, we’re going to have to bump somebody.’
Norton then explained that ‘word came back from Taylor: “No one must be bumped.” And that was a good show to be on because everyone ended up in the Opalite music video. Everyone.’

Daily Mail has reached out to a rep of Swift for comment, but has yet to hear back.
Swift stopped by The Graham Norton Show in October 2025 while promoting her album The Life Of A Showgirl.
It had also been just two months after Kelce popped the big question in a romantic proposal.
At the time, she had given a little insight into planning for the big day, which eventually took place at Madison Square Garden on July 3.
‘I know it’s going to be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble,’ the music artist expressed.
‘And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that.’
The Love Story hitmaker added, ‘It’s like, “We had to have hung out eight times. You’re on the bubble. We’ve hung out five times.” You don’t have to think about it. It’s going to be fun.’
Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said ‘I do’ in front of 1,000 guests which included Norton and other A-list celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Hugh Grant.

The music video for her track Opalite dropped earlier this year in February and Norton, Gleeson, Murphy, Lee, Capaldi and Turner-Smith also made appearances.
Swift opened up about the idea for the 90s-themed video as she uploaded behind-the-scenes photos to her Instagram page at the time.
‘The idea for the Opalite music video crash landed into my imagination when I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl,’ she wrote. ‘I was a guest on one of my favorite shows, @TheGrahamNortonShowOfficial.’
The star recalled ‘thinking I got ridiculously lucky with the group I was paired with,’ referring to the other guests at the time.
‘When we were all talking during the broadcast, Domhnall made a light hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos. He’s Irish! He was joking!
‘Except that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an *idea*,’ Swift further explained.
The songstress expressed that ‘it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too. Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory.’
Swift called the experience of bringing the music video to life an ‘absolute thrill.’

In April, Norton gushed that the Grammy winner had ‘made his dreams come true’ after being asked to appear in the Opalite music video.
‘I said to Taylor at the time, often in your 60s you begin to give up on your dream of appearing in a major pop video.
‘But she made it happen for me… So, all in all, a really great experience,’ he said during a Q+A session for his ITV reality show The Neighbourhood.
The talk show host recalled, ‘I got an email saying Taylor Swift’s people were interested in doing something, and I said, “What the hell is that going to be?”
‘Taylor had been on the show, and there were great vibes, and she literally got the idea when Domhnall Gleeson said he would like to dance in a Taylor Swift video.’
Norton continued, ‘I didn’t notice at the time, but when you look back at the clip, you can see her little face go.
‘She went away and wrote up that whole mad story and asked us all to be in it. Surprise surprise, we all said yes!’
Norton had been one of the 1,000 guests that attended Swift and Kelce’s nuptials nearly two weeks earlier at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
Large ad billboards at the venue read ‘JusTT married’ to confirm the lovebirds said ‘I do.’ The Empire State Building was also lit up in blue as Swift’s ‘something blue’ for the wedding.

Swift’s longtime publicist Tree Paine, who was also in attendance, offered details of the wedding in an email blast shortly after the nuptials.
‘The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture.’
Paine also revealed that Swift did not have bridesmaids and the NFL player did not have groomsmen for the ceremony.
‘Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.’
Kelce’s brother Jason was in attendance and his daughters served as flower girls throwing white and pink rose petals around the bride as she walked down the aisle.
Swift’s wedding gown designer Jonathan Anderson recently broke silence on bringing the dress to life and working with the songstress for her special day.
‘It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends,’ he recently said during an interview with WWD. ‘It’s an emotional thing doing someone’s wedding.’
Last week, Swift and Kelce attended the wedding of his former Chiefs teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The nuptials had taken place at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Orange County, California as Smith-Schuster tied the knot with Laura Kruk.
Swift was seen mingling with other guests outside at the spacious venue while wearing a strapless, pink dress with floral details and a full skirt.
The star was spotted holding hands with Kelce as they strolled next to each other with other guests at the wedding venue.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was also dressed for the occasion in a black suit as well as a white dress shirt and tie.
After their own NYC wedding, Swift and Kelce spent time in Montana at the exclusive Yellowstone Club before returning to California to be guests at Smith-Schuster’s nuptials.

And the mystery in regards to the couple’s rumored dog was solved after photos obtained by the Daily Mail confirmed their new pet.
Swift’s private jet landed at President Donald J Trump International Airport in Palm Beach over the past weekend on Sunday.
While the singer wasn’t pictured, Kelce was seen exiting the aircraft with a fluffy white Samoyed.
The existence of the adorable pup was first revealed by the Daily Mail in exclusive footage from inside the couple’s wedding. Swift and Kelce were seen with the dog in a framed photo at the wedding venue.
