Sharon Osbourne could bring back The Osbournes after parting from The Talk

Sharon Osbourne could be headed back to the small screen in a reboot of The Osbournes.

Osbourne, 68, ‘may revive’ the reality show with husband Ozzy, 72, a source told The Sun Wednesday, in the wake of her split with CBS’s The Talk in March amid a divisive discussion about race with Sheryl Underwood.

The outlet reported that multiple companies have pitched themselves to the celebrity couple for a potential reboot of the series, which initially aired on MTV from 2002 until 2005 and also featured daughter Kelly, 36, and son Jack, 35, who lived with them in Los Angeles at the time.

The latest: Sharon Osbourne could be headed back to the small screen in a reboot of The Osbournes, as she ‘may revive’ the reality show with husband Ozzy, a source told The Sun Wednesday. She was snapped last year in LA

Sources told the outlet Sharon is ‘open to talks’ and ‘ready to go again for the right deal, absolutely’ which could be as much as $20 million.

‘Sharon may have parted ways with CBS, but the interest in her remains sky high,’ a source said. ‘Many production companies are keen to have an updated version of their reality show. And the way things are going, a revival looks pretty strong. It is closer than ever to returning to our screens.

‘The timing is good given that next year will be the 20th anniversary. Certainly the family are just as wild as ever, and would be captivating viewing. After all this time away, bringing the show would be hugely popular.’

In their parting, CBS said that ‘Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.’

The heated chatter came amid her support for Piers Morgan in his rift with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex after her interview alongside Prince Harry with Oprah Winfrey.

Osbourne said she felt like she was on ‘the electric chair’ after Underwood grilled her for her support of Morgan. She told Underwood on the show, ‘Don’t try to cry. If anyone should be crying, it should be me.’

The source told The Sun that ‘the controversy surrounding Sharon’s exit from The Talk will soon die down and a platform like this allows her to say what she wants and viewers will remember exactly why they loved her in the first place.’

A new show would also allow from cross-promotion projects that others in the family have in the works.

‘Ozzy is heading out on tour next summer so this could be good promotion from him as well,’ the source said. ‘And let’s not forget Kelly, who is switching lanes to acting. The signs have never been stronger that a return is happening. A deal is closer than ever.’

Classic: The Osbournes initially aired on MTV from 2002 until 2005 and were one of the forerunners of the rise of the reality TV genre

A spokesperson for Sharon told the outlet that they would ‘announce future projects at the appropriate time.’

In 2018, Osbourne, who’s also been seen on shows such as America’s Got Talent and The X Factor, told Howard Stern that that past efforts to reboot the show were unsuccessful because the offers they received were too low.

‘It keeps going back and forth, different networks will approach us and it never works out,’ she said. ‘They can’t afford us. It’s like why would we want to do it for f***ing peanuts?’
