After a roller-coaster year, Pete Davidson is opening up about his mental health.

In an emotional post to his Instagram Saturday, the “Saturday Night Live” star discussed his daily struggle before deleting his account.

“i really don’t want to be on this earth anymore,” the since-deleted post read. “i’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all i’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so”

Lieutenant Paul Ng of the New York Police Department told USA TODAY Saturday that the department did a “wellness check and made contact” with Davidson following his post.

Davidson, 25, appeared on “Saturday Night Live” the same night he deleted his Instagram account. He introduced musical guest Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson for their second song, live. He was also was a part of a pre-taped sketch about auditions for a new Oscars host. He impersonated “Bohemian Rhapsody” star Rami Malek and in a monotone voice suggested “maybe something fun or super-high energy” for the telecast.

Davidson’s concerning Instagram statement came after a previous post, where he praised Kanye West for speaking out about his own mental health.

“Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health,” Davidson wrote in another deleted post. “I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye.”

Davidson has been has been open about his mental health in the past. In September, the comedian opened up about his borderline personality disorder in an interview with Howard Stern, describing it as “everything feeling so extreme.”

Several celebrities reached out to show support for Davidson after his concerning post on Saturday,  and shared encouraging messages, including Taraji P. Henson.

“I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED. YOUR LIFE MATTERS!!!!!! YOU MATTER BABY!!!!!!! I love you and I SEE SO MUCH LOVE IN YOU!!!!” her comment read. “Your light is bright even if you don’t see it at times….. WE DO and by looking at a lot of these comments YOU LIGHT UP ALOT OF PPL and we are sending you all the love you put into the world. YOU MATTER!! YOU ARE NEEDED!! I LOVE YOU”

Ariana Grande also responded, referencing comments she made about West earlier this week, which the rapper called out for making light of his mental health.

“man i’m so sorry i told a dumb joke. i really didn’t mean any harm. all i want everyone to be healthy and happy. so desperately. please. my god,” she tweeted.

She then followed-up with a tweet directed at Davidson.

“I’m downstairs and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything. I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but i’m here too,” she said.

Jada Pinkett Smith also tweeted her support.

“Pete Davidson … hang in there. There is a lot of help out here,” she wrote. “Surrender to some love some where around you … today! Right now! And then … let in the help that will become available. I’m praying for you Pete. I’ve been there. It gets better.”

Travis Mills also commented on Davidson’s post, writing “Dm,” while Nicki Minaj commented several heart emojis.

In a series of tweets, Minaj also encouraged her followers to give Davidson love and talked about mental health.

“Go give this man some love. My God” she tweeted. “We can be so insensitive. God bless Kanye Pete. Being flippant about mental illness speaks more about you than them. Stop saying the word love live it. Love is an action.”

USA TODAY has reached out the Davidson’s rep for comment.
