Even Olivia Wilde’s offspring has “level 10, defcon 1” public meltdowns.

The “Booksmart” director – who shares son Otis, 5, and daughter Daisy, 2, with fiancé Jason Sudeikis – shared Thursday how a stranger’s “simple act of kindness” helped her when she was “in way over my head” during her son’s public tantrum.

“Couple days ago my kid was having a level 10, defcon 1, couldn’t-control-his-body meltdown at a restaurant,” Wilde, 35, began on Twitter. “It happens. Poor guy was hungry as hell and overwhelmed. I was holding four bags and my 2 yr old. It was chaos.”

‘Booksmart’ is Olivia Wilde’s ultimate flex:Here’s how having kids drove her to direct

Wilde said that the restaurant was packed and her son’s meltdown was “very much on display.” She admitted, “I stayed calm but I was kind of crumbling inside.”

That’s when a young man and woman approached her “in midst of the madness” to see if she need an extra hand.

“I swallowed my pride and said yes, please, and they walked with us, placed my stuff into my trunk, and even put my daughter in her car seat, while I tried to soothe my son,” Wilde explained. “I thanked them and they said, ‘hey no problem. We all have days like this.'”

Wilde said she was blown away by the strangers’ act and plans to pay it forward.

“I’m so moved by this simple act of kindness,” she wrote. “Their generosity profoundly effected my (and my kids’) reality that day. I can’t wait to do this for someone else. Humans are good. We can’t forget that.”

Meltdowns aside, the actress/director has been open about how having children has given her a newfound level of confidence.

“I truly believe that having children – certainly for me, but I would argue for many women – made me feel a sense of confidence and inspiration that allowed me to move to a different stage of my life,” she told USA TODAY in May. “Once I had a baby, I was like, ‘Wow, what can’t I do? This is extraordinary. It’s miraculous what I can juggle.'”
