Nepo baby Riverdale actress in ‘bitter feud’ with director father after his taboo relationship bombshell: ‘It’s the ultimate betrayal’

Riverdale star Hayley Law has reportedly been locked in a bitter feud with her father after he married her former best friend and schoolmate. 

The 33-year-old Canadian actress – best known for her portrayal of Valerie Brown in the CW series – is the daughter of casting director Blair Law and grew up in Surrey, a small town outside Vancouver.

Last month, Blair’s much younger bride – who is also Hayley’s former Riverdale co-star – Caitlin Mitchell-Markovitch, 30, shared photos from her bridal shower on Instagram. Hayley was noticeably missing from the festivities.

A source told the Daily Mail that Hayley and Caitlin ‘were very close’ in the past and were even pictured together in a number of photos on Hayley’s father’s Instagram.

However, his new age-gap marriage with her former friend has reportedly fractured his relationship with his daughter, who the source said ‘cannot get behind this union or the relationship’ and ‘hasn’t spoken to her dad in quite some time.’

‘This felt like the ultimate betrayal from both of them,’ the source said. ‘They’ve been together for a while now.’

The source confirmed that Blair is in his sixties, adding that he ‘is one of the biggest casting directors in Vancouver,’ and ‘never had problems getting young women because of his job.’ 

Hayley has unfollowed her father and former friend on social media, while her sister Brittany, who attended the wedding, still follows both.

In contrast to her apparent distancing from her dad, Hayley is understood to have maintained a strong bond with her mother, whom her father separated from when she was a child. 

‘Hayley was always very close with her mom growing up,’ the insider said.

‘She was always present and she basically raised her kids as a single mom. Blair wasn’t a consistent presence and wasn’t as involved in their lives as she was.

‘Blair would bring his daughters around to the studio and work when they were little, but their mom was the one who did a lot for them. 

‘Their mom really loved being a stage mom almost. She really wanted Hayley especially to get into acting. The split from their mom was quite messy.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Hayley’s representatives and Blair for comment.

The carousel of photos saw the pair kissing in Las Vegas as they celebrated their engagement, with Caitlin proudly showing off her diamond ring in numerous shots.

And in April, Caitlin proudly shared snaps of the couple from her bridal shower. 

While she was surrounded by family and friends, her former pal Hayley was not pictured.

In 2021, years prior to his engagement, he shared a photo celebrating Caitlin’s birthday, which saw her hugging Hayley as they both smiled at the camera.

He also shared a photo of the three of them from Disneyland back in 2020. 

There are no pictures of Blair on Hayley’s Instagram, while he has shared multiple pictures celebrating her acting and music career.

In 2019, he shared a throwback post gushing about Hayley and Brittany: ‘These 2 girls, now women, are my daughters, my best friends and without question responsible for any success I’ve ever had in my life. Im proud to say that not a day goes by where one of us doesn’t need the others love and support.’
