Monica Aldama talks DWTS elimination… and acts coy over possibility of Cheer season two

Cheer star Monica Aldama called her elimination from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars on Monday night’s villains-themed episode ‘bittersweet.’

The 50-year-old Texan and partner Val Chmerkovskiy only received a score of 22 for their Nurse Ratched-inspired jazz routine to a cover of Little Willie John’s 1956 song Fever.

‘Thank you so much for supporting us, for supporting me, in this journey. And thank you to Val for being so amazing,’ Monica said Tuesday morning via Instagram.

‘I’m definitely going to miss this journey, but I’m so excited to see my kids, to be at my house, to see my dogs. I can’t wait. Texas, I’m coming home!’

Back in Corsicana, Aldama and her husband Chris are parents of 24-year-old son Austin and 20-year-old daughter Ally.

The Ukrainian-born 34-year-old called the Navarro College head cheer coach ‘punctual, respectful, and studious’ and said he was going to miss her.

‘Proud of you and grateful to have gotten to know you and play with you for a few months,’ Val gushed in an Instagram post.

‘I don’t know anything about Cheer,’ Aldama told ET on Monday, acting coy.
