Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about future motherhood plans, one year after announcing she and husband Jake Bongiovi adopted a baby girl.

The 22-year-old Stranger Things sensation was a guest on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast this week, where she revealed she’d always planned to adopt.

‘[I] always, always wanted to adopt,’ Brown stressed on Thursday’s episode. 

‘It was always part of my childhood dreams. Every time I was at home and I was, you know, five, six years old, my parents were like, “You had your baby dolls. They were all adopted.” I never had any of them myself. And I never pretended I was pregnant.’

And she clarified that she intends to carry a biological child someday, adding, ‘It’s not because I don’t want that. Hopefully one day that’s in my future.’

The actress noted that her previous schooling informed her family planning as she shared, ‘I loved the aspect of adoption in my social work courses… so meaningful and important. And then I also learned about being a birth mother and what that journey is.’

It comes one year after she announced she and husband Jake Bongiovi adopted a baby girl

Brown stated, ‘So for me, my husband and I took a lot of time to focus on what that story and what that journey looks like. And then we embarked [on] it.’

She announced on social media in August 2025, ‘This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.

‘We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in peace and privacy.’

While chatting with Kelce, the Netflix star likened becoming a parent to ‘going from black and white to color.’

She and her husband, whom she wed in October 2024, have kept their baby’s face and name private.

But hawk-eyed fans have recently theorized that the new mom named her daughter Ruth after spotting a tiny nameplate necklace she wore in a social media post.

Many pointed out that the name Ruth already holds deep personal meaning for the Enola Holmes 3 star – it was the name of her beloved late grandmother, whom she has said was a significant part of her life.

Brown also appeared to hint at her daughter’s name last August when she was seen holding a phone with the initials ‘RWB’ emblazoned on the case.

On Thursday the star gave her Instagram followers a glimpse at her family life with a new post.

One snapshot showed her on a carousel ride at Universal Orlando Resort, holding her daughter’s tiny hand, with the tot’s face out of frame.

Another slide showed the youngster splashing around in a small pool while wearing a blue life vest.

And the final photo was a closeup image of her husband giving their daughter a kiss on the cheek.

Brown captioned, ‘my family ✨,’ racking up more than one million likes from her 70 million followers.  

Following her birthday in February, she wrote on the social media site: ’22. grateful for my husband and daughter. for my family and friends. all of my animals. I am so blessed. thank you for the birthday wishes. xoxo.’
