Kristen Bell has been reunited with her parents for the first time in more than a year.
The 40-year-old actress has been kept apart from her mother Lorelei and her father Tom amid the coronavirus crisis, but she took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal they recently reunited to celebrate her dad’s birthday.
‘Saw my parents for the first time in over a year,’ the Veronica Mars star wrote next to a photo of the three together.

‘It was my dad’s birthday, so we took him out to a nice dinner and he told me that since it was his birthday he absolutely did not have to take his mask off for the pictures I wanted,’ she explained.
The actress concluded her message by expressing that she inherited a certain trait from her father before wishing him well.
She concluded, ‘I get my stubbornness from him. Happy birthday, dad. I’m so glad you’re mine.’
Meanwhile, Bell recently revealed she once took hallucinogenic mushrooms to help ease her anxiety.

The actress explained that after trying a range of treatments to manage her mental health, she found herself inspired to try psychedelics after reading How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan.
She spoke about the book’s influence during an appearance on the HypochondriActor podcast, which is run by actor Sean Hayes and Dr. Priyanka Wali.
Bell explained, ‘He really goes into detail about this underground academic community that has continued to study the effects of LSD and psilocybin on what they call “healthy normal.”‘

The Gossip Girl voice actress went on to note that she learned about the potentially life-changing effects of using psychedelic substances from the book.
‘There are aspects to those two particular drugs that the places you can go in your brain are much deeper and more healing than anything else,’ she added.
Bell became interested in taking mushrooms, and her husband Dax Shepard – who previously battled a drug addiction – helped her to get hold of what she wanted.
A helping hand: During an interview on the HypochondriActor podcast, Bell expressed that her husband, Dax Shepard, helped her procure the necessary psychedelics; she is seen with her husband in 2019
She shared: ‘I really wanted to try some psilocybin and feel what kind of doors open, have a trip that was my own.’
The actress humorously commented on her 46-year-old husband’s past problems with substance abuse and noted that his old connections ended up being helpful in the end.
‘I am very lucky to be married to an ex-drug addict. Not only did he know where to get the mushrooms … he got that really nice, quality, organic, set and setting, beautiful mushroom. And then he … babysat me,’ she recalled.
