Kelly Osbourne took to social media Tuesday to say that 2021 ‘has been the hardest year’ of her life, as she’s felt ‘utterly broken’ at times.

Osbourne, 37, said in a post on Instagram Stories on Tuesday that she remains working on herself, as things are moving in the right direction.

‘I am still putting myself back together again,’ The Osbournes star said. ‘I am happy. I am healthy and that’s all that should matter.’

The latest: Kelly Osbourney, 37, took to social media Tuesday to say that 2021 ‘has been the hardest year’ of her life, as she’s felt ‘utterly broken’ at times. She was snapped last year in LA

Osbourne had also shared a screengrab of an email she’d received from a National Enquirer editor asking for comment about a planned story that she’d ‘put on a tremendous amount of weight after slimming down significantly earlier this year.’

The email from the publication stated that the story in the works had quotes from sources who said Osbourne had dealt with ‘the stress of her recent relapse’ by eating, and that doctors said the resultant weight gain put her at a higher risk to contract COVID-19.

Osbourne said of the email: ‘This is what I deal with on a daily basis. Feel free to email [the editor] and tell him what you think about them fat shaming me.’

Kelly addressed her relapse in a clip she posted to Instagram Stories this past April, revealing that she had engaged in substance abuse after almost four years of staying sober.

Kelly addressed her relapse earlier this year, revealing that she had engaged in substance abuse after almost four years of staying sober. Kelly was seen on June on Red Table Talk

‘This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery,’ Kelly said. ‘I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track.’

Kelly’s mother Sharon Osbourne posted a tweet Wednesday addressed to the National Enquirer editor in which she said the planned report was inconsistent and irresponsible in regards to her daughter’s susceptibility to COVID-19, as well as the message about weight gain the story is sending to readers.

‘The world is worried about catching covid – fat, thin, old, young – even dogs and cats,’ Sharon said. ‘Are you not informed about young girls and how body image can impact their mental health?’

Kelly earlier this year said she was ‘back on track’ after her relapse

Sharon noted that ‘Kelly has had a particularly bad year’ and ‘has taken a step back from the public eye to work on herself.

‘She is doing amazingly well and our family is very proud of her.’

Sharon criticized the outlet for their intent on ‘humiliating her and belittling her by commenting on the way she looks.’
