The 51-year-old actor showed off his mettle Tuesday defending himself after a user questioned why he posted a scantily-clad social media post of wife Kathryn Boyd in lingerie.
The Oscar-nominated Milk actor quoted late novelist Anaïs Nin in the caption as he made clear his strong feelings of love for his wife of three years.

But the topic wasn’t up for debate with the actor, who was curt in his reply to the user: Brolin, who plays Thanos in the Avengers films, responded, ‘I just spoke to God and God asked me to please ask you to shut the f*** up and go take a shower.’
The 5ft10 Santa Monica, California native and Lane, an Atlanta native, celebrated their third anniversary last fall, as they tied the knot in September of 2016 in Cashiers, North Carolina in front of a crowd that included his father James Brolin and stepmother Barbra Streisand.
The actor and model welcomed their first child, daughter Westlyn, in November of 2018. He’s father to son Trevor Brolin, 31, and daughter Eden, 26, both from his marriage to actress Alice Adair from 1988 until 1994.
Josh was also previously married to actress Diane Lane from 2004 to 2013.
