Jersey Shore star Snooki, 38, breaks down in tears after undergoing ‘painful’ hysterectomy amid cervical cancer battle
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi broke down in tears after undergoing a hysterectomy amid her ongoing cancer battle.
On Saturday, she took to Instagram and posted a video of her before and after the ‘painful’ surgery.
After the procedure, the Jersey Shore star, 38, candidly discussed the ‘very scary’ surgery and opened up about how she is in recovery but still ‘dealing with all that pain.’
At multiple points in the video, she had to stop filming as her voice started cracking and her eyes began welling up with tears.
In the beginning of the clip, the reality TV personality recorded herself going to the hospital with her parents early in the morning.
She also shared footage of herself after changing into a hospital gown and cap before heading into the operating room.
She later gave an update after the procedure and opened up about her battle with cancer, which comes after she revealed her diagnosis earlier this year.

Her Instagram Reel included various clips of her before going into surgery and then sharing a health update while in recovery.
Lying in a hospital bed, she admitted that she was feeling ‘not great’ immediately after the procedure and explained she is ‘not good with pain.’
Three times during her candid chat, she appeared to get choked up while opening up about the ‘scary’ ordeal.
‘Sorry it’s just been a lot,’ she explained. ‘Dealing with all that pain, it’s not great but I’m doing my best and I’m trying to stay optimistic.’
Snooki said the surgeon was successfully able to remove her uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes and some parts of her vagina but kept her ovaries ‘so I don’t go into premenopause.’
She described the ‘cramping and hurting’ she was feeling and said ‘the first couple days are hell’ after the surgeon had to make a C-section cut for the hysterectomy.
Snooki also said she was ‘so scared’ before the procedure and recalled how she felt ‘nervous and anxious when they checked me in.’
She gushed over the nurses and doctors for comforting her but said she was ‘literally terrified at this point’ and had started ‘hysterically bawling.’
Afterwards, she said she felt ‘very proud of myself.’

Previously, Snooki revealed she was diagnosed with stage I cervical cancer in February.
The mother of three, who shares Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, seven, with husband Jionni LaValle, said she received the diagnosis after getting a biopsy.
‘The oncologist said you can either do chemo, radiation or the hysterectomy,’ she said at the time.
‘Obviously, I think the smart choice here is the hysterectomy,’ she said.
‘I’ll still get to keep my ovaries, which is a good sign, but the hysterectomy, got to get the cervix in, the uterus out and then possibly lymph nodes, because it can [spread].’

Shortly after the procedure, she shared an Instagram Story post about how she could not sleep because of the ‘pain’
She later shared another social media post discussing the treatment and surgical procedure she and her doctor decided is best for her.
She said she would be getting an open-abdominal hysterectomy and explained why she did that instead of laparoscopically, in which a surgeon performs the procedure using small cuts and a microscopic camera.
‘If [the surgeon] does it [laparoscopically], there is a nine percent chance that he doesn’t get all the cancer, so he’s got to do the C-section cut to get everything out,’ she explained in a follow-up Instagram video.
‘So that’s what we’re dealing with, and that’s what it’s got to be,’ she continued. ‘And I know the recovery is, like, way worse.’
