Jason Momoa delivered a passionate address to protesters at the proposed Thirty Meter Telescope construction site on the sacred grounds at Mauna Kea in Hawaii.
The Aquaman star got choked up when he addressed the crowd, apologizing that it took him ‘so long to visit,’ according to Hawaii News Now.Â
‘I’m so very honored to be here with my children and all my ohana here,’ Momoa began as he spoke to the gathered crowd.

He sported a cozy travel style look that made a statement in more ways than one.
Momoa sported a pair of black and white striped sweatpants with a red t-shirt.
The shirt featured the logo for Ku Kia’i Mauna (Protect Mauna Kea), which is a local-led initiative to preserve the sacred site.
The 39-year-old was greeted as he landed by two men who displayed a large flag for Mauna Kea.

The mountain has recently been the site of protests against construction on the Thirty Meter Telescope, a $1.4 billion project that native Hawaiians say would desecrate the land.
Crowds have reached the thousands, blocking construction crews from reaching the summit.
Hobbs Shaw star Dwayne Johnson also made a surprise appearance at the site to show his support for the Thirty Meter Telescope opposition group.

He recently celebrated the big day with a surprise party orchestrated by some of his closest friends, including Game of Thrones onscreen wife Emilia Clarke.
The event took place at the Rosewood Hotel in London, and he posted a video of the fun to his YouTube channel.
