The first teaser trailer dropped Wednesday showing the hero who inspired the toy, featuring action packed scenes from his adventures in the galaxy.

Lightyear, produced by Pixar, is an origin spinoff movie from the Toy Story franchise; the Toy Story films center around Buzz Lightyear and Woody, a pull-string cowboy toy.
In the Toy Story franchise, Buzz is voiced by Tim Allen with Woody voiced by Tom Hanks.
It marks the 26th animated feature by Pixar; the animated movie is directed by Angus MacLane and produced by Galyn Susman.
The trailer opens with the Space Ranger zipping up his suit before heading out on a mission, with a spaceship getting prepped for takeoff.
The spaceship blasted off into space with Buzz in the drivers seat before the screen changes to Buzz without his iconic suit, looking like a normal person.
He then looks out a window with a wistful look on his face.

The words Infinity Awaits flashes on the screen before a snake-like monster came and grabbed his leg.
Focused: He then looks out a window with a wistful look on his face
Origin: He is with a cat in several parts of the trailer
A cat turns its head all the way around before an angry looking Buzz runs through a darkened hall.
The next scene shows Buzz wearing a collared shirt with the word ‘Lightyear’ on it as he gazes upon the iconic space suit for the first time.
A character named Alicia wears a similar suit and says to Buzz: ‘To infinity’ as she reaches toward him with her finger; she touches her finger to his as he says back: ‘and’ before the screen reads Summer 2022.

Chris released a statement about the project, calling it a ‘dream come true’ to voice Buzz Lightyear.
‘The phrase “a dream come true gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life. Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else. Watching them work is nothing short of magic. Lightyear will be released to theaters on June 17, 2022.
