Dave Chappelle will require rapid COVID-19 tests prior to entry for newly announced stand-up comedy shows… despite vaccination status

Dave Chappelle is scheduled to perform two comedy shows at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort and Casino in front of a live audience in late June.

But ticket holders, despite their vaccination status, will be required to take ‘a mandatory rapid COVID-19 antigen test, prior to entering the venue,’ as per the event’s description.

‘If COVID-19 is detected by the rapid test, that individual and all members of the same household will not be allowed to enter and will be given a refund.’

Even if you pass the coronavirus tests, face masks ‘will be required at all times while in the venue.’

Ticket for Chappelle’s upcoming comedy shows will go on sale on March 26, with the actual performances taking place on the evenings of June 25 and 26.

The strict precautions come just two months after it was revealed that Dave had tested positive for the virus, himself, in late January.

A representative for he 47-year-old comedian confirmed the test results to TMZ at the time, adding that Chappelle had ‘not yet experienced any symptoms’ of the virus.

Although he ‘quarantined’ immediately after learning he had caught COVID-19, he was spotted hanging backstage with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Grimes at Stubb’s Amphitheater in Texas earlier that week.

In a photograph shared to Instagram, Dave looked healthy as he posed with his arm around fellow comedian Joe Rogan, while Elon and Grimes cozied up next to them.

In the months leading up to his positive covid test, Chappelle had continued to bring comedy to the masses, starting with his native Ohio last June.

Before gaining admittance to the venues, comedy show attendees – as well as Chappelle and his crew – were subjected to rapid COVID-19 tests.

Similar protocols to what is currently in place for his recently announced comedy shows.
