Nearly five months after he was fired from The Equalizer after sexual assault allegations surfaced, fans finally learned the fate of Chris Noth’s character William Bishop.

Noth, 67, was dropped from the show back in late December, with CBS revealing he would appear in one more episode that had finished filming before the allegations surfaced.

The Equalizer’s latest episode, entitled Pulse, revealed why the William Bishop character was absent from the show over the past few months.

It was later revealed that Bishop had died in a plane crash that was orchestrated by Robyn McCall’s (Queen Latifah) enemy Mason Quinn (Chris Vance).

The allegations against Noth first surfaced in December from The Hollywood Reporter, with two woman coming forward and claiming Noth had assaulted them.

Investigation: The episode revealed that Bishop had been away for the past few months while working on an investigation

One woman claimed Noth sexually assaulted her in Los Angeles in 2004 while another woman claimed he sexually assaulted her in his New York City apartment in 2015.

After the story was published, the backlash was swift, with Noth being fired from The Equalizer, while HBO also cutting an appearance in the season finale of And Just Like That… while he was also dropped by his agency A3 Artists Agency.

‘Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately,’ read a statement from CBS and Universal Television.

Assault: One woman claimed Noth sexually assaulted her in Los Angeles in 2004 while another woman claimed he sexually assaulted her in his New York City apartment in 2015

After the first wave of allegations, actress and screenwriter Zoe Lister Jones claimed Noth was, ‘consistently sexually inappropriate’ when she worked with Noth on a 2005 episode of Law Order: Criminal Intent.

She also claimed Noth was a, ‘sexual predator’ and that he filmed many of his scenes while drunk.

Another woman also claimed Noth assaulted her in 2010 while singer-songwriter Lisa Gentile accused him of assaulting her in New York in 2002.

Noth’s character William Bishop was a mentor to Queen Latifah’s main character Robyn McCall.

The Equalizer series debuted in February 2021 after the Super Bowl, a gender-swapped remake of the original series of the same name starring Robert Woodward.

The original series ran for four seasons from 1985 to 1989, and was also adapted to the big screen with the 2014 movie The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington and the 2018 sequel The Equalizer 2.
