Brittany Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92. Â
Son Jeff Bertolotti and daughter Pia Reynolds confirmed the news on Facebook in separate posts.Â
Angelo’s passing comes just nine years after the sudden death of his daughter, Brittany, who died on December 20, 2009.Â

Jeff said that a decision was made to take his father off of life support.Â
‘…I feel its only right to post that Angelo will be taken off life support at 2:30 PM today,’ wrote Jeff, in a Facebook post.Â

Angelo’s death comes nearly a decade following the sudden death of his daughter Brittany.Â
The star collapsed in her home, and later died of a pneumonia.Â
‘She was really sick with pneumonia, very anemic, and she was taking medication,’ the coroner began in an interview with People. ‘And all that combined killed her.’
Her husband, Simon Monjack, died just five months later of similar causes. Â
