The father of late actress Brittany Murphy has died at 92.

Angelo Bertolotti’s children, Jeff Bertolotti and Pia Jo Reynolds, confirmed their father died in California Tuesday – nine years after Murphy’s sudden death.

“Dad passed peacefully yesterday here in Los Angeles,” Reynolds wrote on Facebook Wednesday. “Thank you all so much for your prayers, love and beautiful words of encouragement. Please keep them coming as we walk through the next steps.”

Bertolotti said the family made the “excruciating decision” to remove their father from life support after it was clear he wouldn’t be “able to roll out of this extensive set of health problems. Anything short of letting him go would be cruel.”

“He passed with my beautiful sister Pia at his bedside, Frank Sinatra in his ears and a quiet calm on his face,” Jeff wrote in a touching tribute on Facebook. “RIP Pop’s, I’ll miss your crazy insane (expletive), forever.”

Jeff Bertolotti remembered his dad as a World War II veteran and a mortician, and also his “life long career in crime.” Jeff touched on his dad’s troubled past, which included three felony convictions and 12 years behind bars.

“He did so in full recognition of his actions, excepting full responsibility… Never once utilizing ‘the scapegoat,'” Jeff wrote.

Bertolotti’s death comes nearly a decade after Murphy collapsed in her Hollywood home and died on Dec. 20, 2009, at age 32.

The “Clueless” actress’ cause of death was concluded by the Los Angeles Coroner’s office to be pneumonia and anemia.
