Toast might seem simple, but as Great British Baking Show judge Prue Leith makes clear, a slice of bread can be the base of plenty of full, delicious plates that range from savory to sweet for anytime of day.
Leith’s “Bliss on Toast: 75 Simple Recipes,” out now, can help you turn toast into, well, a meal full of “bliss.”
For her recipes, Leith used different bread types including focaccias, baguettes, flatbreads, sourdoughs and more in combination with different toppings including vegetables, fish and meat.
With seemingly endless combinations and pairings such as tomatoes, shallots and oregano on black olive toast or grilled chicken tikka with yogurt on naan, Leith provides not only inspiration for seasonal options but also a “toolkit” for fridge-raiding, according to a release.Â
