'Orange Is the New Black' star Danielle Brooks is 'happily pregnant' with her first child

“Orange Is the New Black” star Danielle Brooks is expecting!
The 29-year-old actress – who is best known for her role as Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson on the Netflix series – revealed that she’s five months pregnant with her first child.Â
Brooks took to Instagram Tuesday to share a picture of herself holding a positive pregnancy test, writing: “I’m happily pregnant!”
“So elated to finally share this news with you all,” she captioned the grinning image, adding on Twitter: “So happy to announce I’m preggers. 20 weeks in and feeling good!”
‘Orange Is the New Black’: Netflix series to end after Season 7 in 2019
Although the actress didn’t disclose the gender of her baby, she showed off her growing baby bump by wearing a pink shirt and matching “20 week” sticker, tell-tale signs of a baby girl?Â
Brooks wrote that she’s “excited to share my new beginning,” adding that “when one chapter ends, another begins,” referring to the seventh and last season of “Orange Is the New Black.”

The final season of “OITNB” premieres July 26 on Netflix.
Brooks expressed her gratitude to the show’s fans in a series of tweets. “You all are the most LOYAL, LOVING fans a girl could EVER ask for. You all have held me up when I wanted to give up… Thank you,” she wrote last October.
