Amy Schumer shares heartfelt tribute to husband Chris Fischer on son Gene’s second birthday adding their child will ‘likely’ inherit dad’s autism as she encourages fans to get tested

Amy Schumer shared a heartfelt tribute to her chef husband Chris Fischer on their son Gene’s second birthday this Wednesday.

The 39-year-old comedienne wrote that her son will ‘most likely’ inherit his father’s autism and encouraged fans to get tested.

‘Today is our son’s birthday and I woke up emotional as hell thinking about my husband, Chris. In this first photo while I was having a 3 hour c section he held my hand and stared in my eyes so I never felt alone,’ she began her note.

Mother and child: The 39-year-old wrote that her son will ‘most likely’ inherit his father’s autism and encouraged fans to get tested

‘I feel loved and supported always. He takes care of our family and is a husband and father beyond my wildest dreams. Also he has autism spectrum disorder. Being tested and diagnosed has helped us communicate and support each other better.’

Amy added: ‘People have reached out to us saying that seeing our doc #expectingamy motivated them to get tested and that it has changed their lives.’

She continued: ‘We want to encourage parents and people to give themselves the gift of information so people can function to the best of their abilities and remove any stigma that comes with autism. Statistically our son most likely will be diagnosed as well and if he’s anything like his father that is wonderful news.’

The proud mother concluded: ‘So on our babies birthday where he held my hand tight snd held me with his eyes I want to say I love you thank you snd happy birthday little geenie panini we love you as much as you love school busses.’

Prior to the more serious post Amy posted an Instagram prank while celebrating her son second birthday.

The Trainwreck writer uploaded snaps of a Game Of Thrones themed birthday party – and joked it was for her toddler.

‘Thank you to everyone who came to our baby’s birthday party! You only turn 2 once,’ she quipped in the caption of the album.

Her pictures even included cake pops meant to look like heads on spikes in a nod to one particularly memorable scene from early in the show.

The sadistic child king Joffrey has the nobleman Ned Stark decapitated and forces his daughter Sansa Stark to stare at his head mounted with others on a wall.

Amy also posted a snap of cupcakes that were decorated with little paper gravestones for other characters including Robb, Catelyn and Talisa Stark.

All those characters are specifically the victims of the Red Wedding, an infamous massacre that occurs at the end of season three.

The birthday cake had a crown on top and the two tiers were frosted to look as through they were both dripping with blood.

Amy’s pictures showed a table set with throwback place settings and a banner of House Stark’s motto: ‘Winter Is Coming.’

While Amy was pregnant with Gene she came down with such a severe bout of hyperemesis gravidarum that she was hospitalized multiple times.

Her pregnancy was shown on last year’s HBO docuseries Expecting Amy where she was seen telling Christy Turlington she was considering surrogacy next time.

She said there was a ‘90% chance’ of her contracting hyperemesis if she got pregnant again and quipped that she was ‘never’ going to do so.

When Gene was born Amy initially gave him the middle name Attell as a tribute to her longtime friend and fellow stand-up comic Dave Attell.

However once it was brought to her attention that ‘Gene Attell’ sounded remarkably similar to ‘genital’ she switched the middle name to David.

Early last year she began the in vitro fertilization process for another baby but then she decided to pause it because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Amy revealed on The Howard Stern Show last April that ‘we were gonna like try to make a move and COVID happened.’

Throwback: Amy and Chris are pictured at their wedding which was held one day before Valentine’s Day three years ago

The Snatched actress explained: ‘And I’m just kinda like walking it back like: “Okay, maybe we”ll just revisit that in a minute.”‘

Last summer she told Access that IVF was ‘really hard on my body, it was really hard on me emotionally. You know, and we got one embryo so that’s not like, you know, we knocked it out of the park but we’re grateful that we got one normal embryo.’

Then last month on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Amy said she and Chris were ‘trying to figure out’ the process of having a second child.
