WASHINGTON â€” Medical personnel are treating a male victim after he shot himself outside of the White House, according to the Secret Service and D.C. police.Â President Trump is in Florida on Saturday and not at the residence.
Police have sealed off traffic on streets near the White House, and Pennsylvania Avenue has been shut to pedestrians.Â Officers with rifles are patrolling the area.

â€œWeâ€™re aware of the incident. The president has been briefed,” White House spokesmanÂ Hogan Gidley said.Â
The president spent the morning at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. Saturday and will spend the early afternoon at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Trump is expected to return to Washington D.C. this evening to attend the Gridiron Dinner.
Reporters at the White House said they were told to shelter in place.

This is the second red alert at the White House in less than 10 days. A Tennessee woman intentionallyÂ rammed her car into a barrierÂ outside of the White House on Feb. 23.
