WASHINGTON — Jerry Parr, a Secret Service representative credited with assisting save President Ronald Reagan from a 1981 assassination attempt, died Friday. He was 85.

Parr died of congestive heart disaster in Washington, D.C., Parr’s wife, Carolyn, said, according to mixed media outlets. Parr has been hailed a favourite for saving Reagan when he pushed a boss into a automobile Mar 30, 1981, after John Hinckley fired shots outward a Hilton hotel in Washington, D.C.
