Rand Paul mocked Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney for their private meeting in Utah, but he lost points for misspelling with his dig on Twitter.

The Kentucky senator took a swipe at his potential rivals for president and their support for Common Core educational standards in a tweet that suggested they exchanged gifts. The problem? Paul’s digital team misspelled the word “friendship” in the tweet, as seen in the image captured by Scott Conroy of RealClearPolitics.

Kristy Campbell, an aide to Bush, fired back a tweet

Paul deleted the misspelled tweet and came back with two more to troll the two former governors.

On the subject of misspelling, Paul’s digital team suggested since the dig was about Common Core and education “we don’t have to spell it right” to make the point.

Lay off. It was a common core post. We don’t have to spell it right! pic.twitter.com/ZC3oWjkUXi

Paul apparently likes to troll rivals on social media. He sent out a series of missives on Twitter and Facebook last month challenging Marco Rubio on Cuba
