Several GOP lawmakers say if the sexual misconduct accusations against the Alabama senate hopeful reported in ‘The Washington Post’ are true, Roy Moore must drop out of the race.

As the fallout continues over allegations that Roy Moore groped, kissed and pursued teenage girls when he was in his 30s, two Republicans have outright denounced his candidacy.
Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney said Friday that he believed the account of Leigh Corfman, who told to the Washington Post that Moore engaged in sexual touching with her when she was 14 and he was in his 30s in the late 1970s.
“Moore is unfit for office and should step aside,” Romney tweeted.
Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore. Moore is unfit for office and should step aside.

Joining him in his denouncement of Moore was Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who said the GOP “must not support him.”
I’ve long opposed Roy Moore his divisive viewpoints. The actions described make him unfit for office. The GOP must not support him. He should step aside.

Their reactions are notable since they have outright called for Moore to drop out of the race for the Senate seat once occupied by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. President Trump and Senate Republicans have said that Moore should drop out of the race if the allegations are true.
