Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says a latest information from a World Meteorological Organization shows that a month of Jul “at slightest equalled if not surpassed a hottest month in available history” — and it followed a hottest Jun ever.
The UN chief told reporters Thursday that “this is even some-more poignant since a prior hottest month, Jul 2016, occurred during one of a strongest El Niño’s ever,” that was not a box this year.

Guterres pronounced this means a universe is on lane for a duration from 2015 to 2019 “to be a 5 hottest years on record.”
