This time final year, Patricia Arquette had already turn a bulletproof Best Supporting Actress front-runner. She won only about each esteem there was to win for “Boyhood.” This year, there’s no such pacesetter. The dual thespians who come a closest to being favorites are Rooney Mara and Alicia Vikander, yet could their contingency be jeopardized by Oscar machinations? Their movies’ studios are touting them as ancillary players even yet both roles are unequivocally leads, that competence nonplus voters, who are differently looking during a wide-open field.
