The Shonda Rhimes Character She Most Identifies With
Television author and writer Shonda Rhimes has combined a lot
While many of these women have been outspoken and bold, a lady behind them was utterly a opposite. As Rhimes recently told Oprah
“I feel like maybe they’re mistaking me for my characters,” Rhimes says. “There is a beauty of removing to censor behind my characters.”
While those characters were saving lives, holding lives, opposed rivals, carrying ardent affairs, reuniting with “dead” kin and violation all sorts of rules, Rhimes was vital sensitively in their illusory shadows — maybe a small vicariously so.
“My characters were vital a most some-more sparkling life than we was,” Rhimes says. “They were observant all a things maybe we would wish to contend or do, or carrying a bravery that we was not carrying during a time.”
Still, there’s always been one sold impression that Rhimes has always identified with.
“There’s a lot of Cristina Yang in me,” Rhimes says, referring to her “Grey’s Anatomy” impression who was fiercely driven, focused and unequivocally private with her emotions. “Starting out, we consider we was a lot some-more Cristina Yang.”
Now, however, Rhimes says she’s morphed into a some-more colourful chronicle of herself, interjection to an initial year where she pushed herself to contend “yes” to all a things that frightened her
“There’s a lot of Olivia Pope in me, now that I’ve turn most some-more of a veteran woman,” Rhimes says. “Now, we feel like I’m most some-more Olivia Pope.”
Together, a Yang-Pope mix is one that Rhimes is happy to own. “[It’s] a good combination,” she says.
