From a architect: Considering Density
Cloud Corridor addresses a regard of stretch in cities and presents a typological alternative: a high-density straight village. By reorienting a streets vertically, 9 companion residential towers redistribute a civic fabric to hold manifold neighborhoods into a straight encampment with open spaces and gardens in a sky. Connective corridors wobble dissemination between towers to encourage a clarity of encampment among residents and activate a towers as a bustling encampment within a city. Formally, a high-rise building is a matter of energy and amicable context. Cloud Corridor reconsiders modernism’s residential building typology and folds in a pattern truth that residential building should respond to inlet and stress a environment.
Vertical Gardens
Proposed as an civic landmark, Cloud Corridor expresses a friendship to nature. Each floorplate boasts gardens to accompany residential units. The garden patios and courtyards yield a sensuous sourroundings amid a surrounding civic density, and yield a shelter from a bland among nature. Elevated corridors and multi-level garden patios figure a city skyline and yield observation platforms for residents to disremember a bustling activity next and a healthy landscape beyond.
Podium as Park
Adjacent to Museum Row, Cloud Corridor’s speculated site sits above a stirring Metro hire and provides an event to propel inlet into a bland life of a city. Cloud Corridor’s lectern dually serves as a open park and as a travel hub, providing a site for activity after museum hours.Â
The sculpted lectern is lonesome with a weed grass and punctuated by trees; a mutation of a massing advise a picture of rolling hills. Simultaneously, a lectern rises divided from a belligerent to exhibit both a private-access run for building residents and entrance for Metro Station patrons. Merging infrastructure with nature, Cloud Corridor’s lectern blurs a range between civic landscape and healthy scenery.Â
The Cloud Corridor hurdles a required residential typology and transforms bland civic practice into opportunities for residents to correlate with inlet among a flourishing firmness in cities
