Short Film Explores The Unexpected Beauty Of Vintage Maps

The Los Angeles Review of Books is unapproachable to benefaction a new brief documentary from LA-based filmmaker Alec Ernest. “Living History: The John Feathers Map Collection” is a a story of an unusual dark value and a glance into a reserved essence that stable it for years.

The story starts with Glen Creason, Map Librarian during Los Angeles Central Library and author of Los Angeles in Maps, who recounts his knowledge in Oct 2012 when a genuine estate representative rang him about a soon-to-be-demolished residence in Mt. Washington that was “full of maps”. Thinking he’d find a box of National Geographics during best, Creason reluctantly set out for a house. But once he arrived he detected so many changed maps that he had to lapse with a lorry and an army of volunteers to transport them away.
