Gary Owens, ‘Laugh-In’ Announcer, Dead At Age 80

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The male behind a well-spoken baritone best famous for announcing “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In” has died. Gary Owens was 80 years old.

Owens’ family pronounced Friday that a maestro voiceover star died Thursday during his Los Angeles-area home.

Owens hosted thousands of radio programs over his seven-decade career. He seemed in some-more than a dozen cinema and on scores of TV shows, including Lucille Ball and Bob Hope specials. He also uttered hundreds of charcterised characters, available a comedy manuscript and wrote dual books.

Owens is survived by his mother of 57 years, Arleta, and their sons, Scott and Chris. Owens suffered from diabetes and a family asks that donations be done to a Children’s Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.
