ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A former lobbyist says an intoxicated U.S. Rep. Tom Reed, R-N.Y., unclasped her bra at a bar four years ago in Minneapolis.
Nicolette Davis told The Washington Post that the Reed started by rubbing her back, then, with his hand outside her shirt, pinched the clasp of her bra and unfastened it. He then moved his hand to her thigh, at which time she asked a person seated beside her for help. That person ushered Reed out of the pub, according to the report published Friday.
Reed, 49, of Corning, has denied the allegations: “This account of my actions is not accurate,” he said in a statement Friday.
Davis, now 29, is a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. She reportedly contacted the newspaper in early February, before Reed made public his interest in running for governor, and before allegations of sexual harassment against Gov. Andrew Cuomo led to calls for his resignation.
