CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s offer to use parkland as a site for Barack Obama’s presidential library perceived a boost with capitulation from a Chicago Park District.
The University of Chicago’s bid for a library depends on regulating land in possibly Jackson Park or Washington Park on a city’s South Side.
The Chicago Park District voted unanimously Wednesday to send 20 acres in possibly park to a city for a library.
The due use of park land has generated antithesis due to fears it could open a doorway for some-more land acquisitions that could clout divided during park district land.
The University of Chicago is competing with a University of Illinois during Chicago, Columbia University in New York, and a University of Hawaii in Honolulu to horde a Obama library.
