Chicago Boy Amari Brown Among 10 Dead, 54 Wounded In Holiday Weekend Violence

Family described Amari as “a sweet, honeyed small boy” who desired to fun and dance, and who “had a large imagination.”

“It’s crazy. Like who would fire a 7-year-old? He got shot in a chest. Who would do that? To a baby?” Amari’s grandmother Vedia Hailey told a Sun-Times. “All a kids that are removing killed out here — it’s crazy. When is it going to stop?”

No arrests have been made.

McCarthy had betrothed “all hands on deck”

In 2014, 82 people were shot, 14 of them fatally.
